Strategic Plan

Community consultations were conducted within the Dubbo Site in 2014. These shaped the Communities for Children Community Strategic Plan (CSP) which will guide activities from 2015 to 2017.

Based on the Community Strategic Plan 2015/17 the Communities for Children priority areas are :

Priority Area 1: Parent/Carer Education

Provide parent/carer education activities and programs addressing all aspects of parenting including healthy growth and development, social and emotional skills, behaviour, speech and language, safety, learning and education.

Priority Area 2: Children aged 6 – 12 years

To empower children through knowledge, and creating opportunities for recreation and learning; by engaging with schools, services and community,

Giving direction and guidance to build sturdy foundations for their own life, take ownership of their future so as to feel valued and value others, and by having respect for self and others.

Priority 3: Intensive Family Support

To provide intensive family support to families with complex needs, are experiencing hardship or are in a crisis situation.  This will be universally available creating access to those families that do not meet other similar programs eligibility  criteria.

Priority Area 4: Service Coordination and Collaboration

This will address the need for a continuing coordinated and integrated service response for families of children birth to 12 years.  This will be achieved through strong networks and coordinated service delivery in particular in Wellington and Narromine.
